Missouri’s offensive line has taken an early setback as head coach Eli Drinkwitz revealed that projected starting right tackle Josh Atkins suffered a leg injury that could sideline him into the fall.
A transfer from Arizona State Sun Devils, Atkins was expected to play a key role this season, but his availability for the start of camp—and possibly September—remains uncertain.

Drinkwitz noted that both Atkins and teammate Elias Williams are expected to return sometime between September and October, though no firm timeline has been set as recovery progress will determine their status.

The lack of clarity leaves Missouri needing to adjust, especially after already losing All-American tackle Keagen Trost to the NFL Draft.
With Atkins’ status up in the air, Mississippi transfer Luke Work could emerge as a potential replacement at right tackle.
The Tigers had hoped Atkins’ experience would help stabilize the line, but now they may be forced to reshuffle early as they head into spring preparations.
