Meanwhile, Semien has experienced a rough start with the Mets. In their three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he went just 2-for-11 at the plate with a hit-by-pitch, highlighting the offensive gap that prompted the Rangers to make the trade.
Despite his slow start, Semien remains an elite defender, which was a key factor in New York’s decision to acquire him.
