Mets Add Veteran Arm: Mets Score Big for Bullpen, Signing Another World Series-Tested Braves Reliever-From World Series Glory to Mets Glory

The New York Mets bolstered their bullpen on Saturday by signing veteran right-handed reliever Luke Jackson to a minor league deal, as reported by The Athletic’s Will Sammon. Jackson, 34, is a familiar name to many, having earned a World Series ring with the Atlanta Braves.

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Jackson was a first-round pick by the Texas Rangers in the 2010 MLB Draft straight out of high school. Over parts of 10 MLB seasons, he has pitched for the Rangers, Braves, Giants, Mariners, and Tigers, compiling a career ERA of 4.22 at the major league level.

More recently, his 2025 season saw mixed results: a 4.11 ERA in 39 outings with the Rangers, 7.71 ERA in three games with the Tigers, and a 2.38 ERA in 10 appearances for the Mariners, finishing with a combined 4.06 ERA in 52 appearances, 6.7 strikeouts per nine innings, and 4.9 walks per nine innings.

While the Mets will hope Jackson can improve those ratios, his extensive MLB experience and background on winning teams could make him a useful option in their bullpen this season. Ultimately, he may provide depth and veteran leadership as New York looks to strengthen its pitching staff.
