The Philadelphia Phillies have had ongoing offensive issues throughout the season, with even their star-heavy lineup of Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Bryce Harper unable to provide consistent production behind them.
One of the biggest concerns has been Alec Bohm, who has struggled badly at the plate and ranks among the least effective qualified hitters in baseball this year.
As noted by Christopher Kline, Bohm has posted extremely poor numbers, hitting just .157 with a .444 OPS and only one home run, struggling to drive the ball despite some underlying indicators suggesting slightly better luck.
His lack of power and overall production has become a major issue for Philadelphia’s lineup.
Bohm had already been viewed as a possible trade or replacement candidate entering the season, and his continued struggles have only increased speculation that a change of scenery could be coming.
However, since he is on an expiring contract, finding a trade partner willing to take him on midseason may prove challenging.

Off the field, Bohm has also dealt with added distraction after a public legal dispute involving his parents and financial allegations surfaced earlier in the year.
Although unrelated to his on-field performance, the situation may have contributed to his difficult start, and recent reports indicate the case may now be headed toward dismissal.

With Philadelphia in need of immediate offensive improvement and Bohm still struggling at the plate, a trade is becoming an increasingly realistic option.
Moving him could give the Phillies flexibility to address other roster needs while also potentially opening the door for top prospect Aidan Miller to earn a call-up and contribute.
