Missouri Tigers and head coach Dennis Gates continued to reshape their roster for the 2026–27 season on Saturday, securing their sixth transfer addition of the offseason with a commitment from guard Cord Stansberry.
Stansberry, who began his college career with the Pepperdine Waves before spending two seasons with the Western Carolina Catamounts, is set to enter his fourth collegiate year. During his junior campaign, he averaged 14.1 points, four rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while serving as the primary scoring option.

While he brings experience and scoring ability, Stansberry arrives in Columbia as more of a depth addition given Missouri’s already loaded transfer haul.
He was inconsistent as an efficient scorer, shooting 35.9% from the field and 30% from three-point range, though he did have notable performances, including a 23-point game against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Missouri’s transfer class also includes impact additions such as Kennard Davis from the BYU Cougars, Jaylen Carey from the Tennessee Volunteers, Bryson Tiller from the Kansas Jayhawks, Jordan Crawford from the South Dakota Coyotes, and Jamier Jones from the Providence Friars.
On top of the transfer activity, Missouri is also bringing in one of the nation’s top freshmen classes, highlighted by five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr., who is ranked among the top prospects in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
