Dennis Gates and the Missouri Tigers continued their busy offseason on Saturday, securing their sixth transfer commitment with former Western Carolina guard Cord Stansberry.
Stansberry, who began his college career at Pepperdine before spending the last two seasons at Western Carolina, is set to enter his fourth year of college basketball next season. During his junior campaign, he averaged 14.1 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while serving as the main offensive option for the Catamounts.

While not the most efficient scorer, shooting 35.9% from the field and 30% from three, Stansberry still delivered standout performances, including a 23-point game against Cincinnati early in the season.

Given Missouri’s strong transfer haul, his addition is expected to provide backcourt depth rather than a primary scoring role.
He joins a growing list of transfers including Kennard Davis Jr., Jaylen Carey, Bryson Tiller, Jordan Crawford, and Jamier Jones, as Missouri continues reshaping its roster for the 2026–27 season alongside a highly ranked incoming freshman class led by five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr.
