Injury Update: Disaster Strikes Philadelphia as Another Phillies Outfielder Is Forced Out for the Entire Season Following Major Injury Setback

The Philadelphia Phillies currently sit second in the NL East, but they will have to continue their 2026 campaign without outfielder Johan Rojas.

Rojas was already serving an 80-game suspension after testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance Boldenone, and now his season has officially come to an end.

According to reports from Bob Nightengale, Rojas has suffered a UCL tear that will sideline him through the remainder of 2026 and likely keep him out until 2027.

He had originally been expected to return from his suspension near the end of June, but the injury has eliminated any chance of a comeback this season.

Rojas first reached the major leagues in 2023 and made an immediate impact, batting .302 with two home runs and 23 RBIs across 59 games.

He followed that up with a solid 2024 season, appearing in 120 games while hitting .243 with three homers and 31 RBIs.

However, his production declined significantly in 2025. He posted a .224 batting average with just one home run and 18 RBIs before being demoted to Triple-A with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs late in the season.

The young outfielder entered spring training hoping to earn a spot on Philadelphia’s roster but struggled offensively, batting .200 with one RBI before the PED suspension was announced in March.

Meanwhile, the Phillies remain in playoff contention at 36-31, holding second place in the NL East and currently occupying the National League’s second Wild Card position as they wrap up their series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
