The Philadelphia Phillies are entering one of the biggest games of their 2026 season with their playoff hopes becoming increasingly important.
Thursday’s Field of Dreams matchup against the Minnesota Twins comes as Philadelphia sits at 64-58, tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the National League’s final Wild Card spot, while Minnesota is also battling for postseason positioning.
With the Phillies fighting to stay in the playoff race, Bryce Harper’s health has become one of the team’s biggest concerns.
The superstar has been dealing with soreness in his left knee while adjusting to a return to right field, a position he had not regularly played in several years.
Harper’s knee issue resurfaced after the Phillies acquired Luis Arraez at the trade deadline, prompting him to move back into the outfield.
According to reports, Harper originally hurt the knee on July 11, but the discomfort eased following the All-Star break before returning after he resumed playing right field.
Concern surrounding Harper increased after he appeared uncomfortable during an at-bat in Philadelphia’s recent loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
With the Field of Dreams matchup approaching, questions emerged about whether the knee problem could affect his availability or performance during an important stretch of the season.

Harper, however, quickly downplayed the concern when asked about the incident. The Phillies star gave a brief three-word response, saying, “I was good,” before explaining that his reaction at the plate was not caused by his knee.
Harper said he had taken two poor swings and simply needed to regain his composure, offering some reassurance as Philadelphia continues its push for the postseason.
