One of the most notable names he brought in was Fraser Minten, a player who could prove to be an x-factor for the Bruins in the 2025-26 season.
Fraser Minten’s Role with the Bruins Next Season
When Sweeney traded defenseman Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs, he knew the return had to be substantial. The deal included a 2026 first-round draft pick, a fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft, and prospect Fraser Minten. Minten started his time with the Bruins in the AHL, playing with Providence before being called up toward the end of the season. In his short stint, he showed promise as a player who could be a key contributor to the lineup in 2025-26.
Although Minten’s time with the Bruins was limited to just six games, he made a noticeable impact. He scored his first goal as a Bruin in a dominant 7-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils on April 8. Over his six games, he averaged 15:01 of ice time per game, winning 42% of his face-offs and registering eight shots on goal.
With the offseason approaching, the Bruins’ roster will see some changes, including subtractions and additions. One thing is certain: the team will need some youthful energy to step up and make the roster come September. Minten is one player who could fill that role, contributing in all three zones. He has the potential to make the 2025-26 lineup and be a game-changer for the Bruins. The team will certainly need him to rise to the occasion.
