Huge Impact: Missouri Head Coach Personally Welcomes Sebastian Mack, Shares Why He’ll Be Working Closely With the Star Transfer

Sebastian Mack, a 6-foot-4 guard from Chicago, is transferring to Missouri after two strong seasons with the UCLA Bruins. In 67 games, he averaged 10.8 points and totaled 724 points, 190 rebounds, 111 assists, and 75 steals across his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Missouri head coach Dennis Gates praised Mack’s high-level experience in the Pac-12 and Big Ten, highlighting his tough, physical play style and ability to impact both ends of the court. Gates noted Mack’s strength as a downhill guard and his efficiency at drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line — a skill that aligns with Missouri’s playing identity.

Mack was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2023–24 after averaging 12.1 points per game that season. He followed up with 9.6 points per game as a sophomore and ranked among the nation’s top 125 in fouls drawn per 40 minutes both years. He also placed fifth in the Pac-12 in free-throw attempts with 172 during the 2023–24 season.

He’s scored in double figures 37 times in his college career, including seven 20-point performances. A former top-60 recruit in the Class of 2023, Mack starred at Coronado High School in Nevada, where he was named Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year after averaging 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

Mack becomes Missouri’s third spring signee, joining Jevon Porter and Luke Northweather. The trio adds to a Tigers team that reached the NCAA Tournament, notched three top-five wins in a single season for the first time since 1988–89, and finished sixth in a historically competitive SEC.
