Giants Make Bold Move: Giants Lock In Star Defender with $45 Million Contract Splash

Is Jevon Holland a future star? The New York Giants are certainly betting on it.

Former Giants defensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Chris Canty believes Holland has the tools to become a standout safety in the NFL.

On the “Breaking Big Blue” podcast, Canty described Holland as a “budding star,” highlighting his ability to blitz, cover effectively, and make plays at every level of the field—traits that are rare among safeties today.

While Holland’s final season with the Dolphins in 2024 was inconsistent, he still brings valuable experience and playmaking ability to the Giants’ defense.

Over his four-year NFL career, he’s tallied five interceptions, 16 pass deflections, five forced fumbles, and five sacks.

Pairing Holland with promising young safety Tyler Nubin, who had 98 tackles in his rookie season, gives the Giants a potentially dynamic duo in the secondary.

Holland’s versatility—his ability to cover in space and play aggressively against the run—adds athleticism and skill that could significantly elevate New York’s defense.

With his leadership, athleticism, and proven knack for making impact plays, Holland could be exactly the type of difference-maker the Giants need to thrive in the tough NFC East.
