Major Blow for Blackhawks: Shock Move as Blackhawks’ Most Experienced Star Heads to Western Conference Team

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is aiming for an NHL comeback and is reportedly favored to sign with the Winnipeg Jets.

Toews spent his entire career with Chicago from 2007 to 2023, helping the team capture three Stanley Cups before stepping away due to medical issues. Now 37, he’s ready to return to the ice, with NHL insider Cam Robinson suggesting the Jets are the likely landing spot.

A Manitoba native, Toews returning home to play for a strong Jets team could be a perfect fit, especially with their need for center depth while Adam Lowry is sidelined.

Although concerns remain about his health and role, Toews is expected to provide valuable experience and leadership, likely signing a low-risk, team-friendly deal.

His agent confirmed Toews is feeling great and moving forward with his comeback plans, while NHL analyst Frank Seravalli projects he’ll sign for the league minimum with performance bonuses.

Despite being frustrated with how his time with the Blackhawks ended, Toews says he still has plenty to offer and wants to play with passion and give his all before retiring.

With six NHL All-Star appearances and a decorated career, fans and teams alike will be watching closely as this comeback story unfolds.
