Missouri Men’s Basketball Reloads: Missouri Men’s Basketball Keeps Transfer Portal Momentum Rolling with Back-to-Back Commitments, Landing Another Key Addition as the Tigers Continue an Aggressive Roster Rebuild

Missouri is staying hot in the transfer portal, securing its second commitment in as many days.

The Tigers have landed Providence transfer wing Jamier Jones, who announced Tuesday on Instagram that he will join head coach Dennis Gates’ program.

His pledge comes just a day after Tennessee big man Jaylen Carey also committed.

Jones, who played his freshman season with the Friars, appeared in 31 games and started 19, quickly becoming a key contributor in the Big East.

At 6-foot-6 and 218 pounds, he fills an important need on the wing for Missouri.

During his rookie campaign, the Sarasota, Florida native averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting an efficient 57% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range, though on limited attempts.

Known for his physicality and ability to attack the basket, Jones brings athleticism and versatility to the Tigers’ perimeter.

Missouri returns Trent Pierce as a likely starter on the wing, but depth at the position has been thin. Annor Boateng could also factor in, though his availability remains uncertain due to injury, and he has primarily been viewed as a defensive option.

Meanwhile, incoming four-star prospect Aidan Chronister is regarded as a shooting specialist, but his readiness for immediate SEC impact is still unclear.

With Jones now in the mix alongside Pierce, Missouri adds another strong option on the perimeter.

There are also familiar ties connecting Jones to the program. Mizzou general manager Tim Fuller was on staff at Providence during Jones’ recruitment, working under former Missouri standout Kim English, who coached Jones last season before moving on to an assistant role at North Carolina.

Jones, a former top-40 recruit out of Orlando in the 2025 class, reportedly visited Missouri over the weekend before making his decision.

The transfer portal officially opened April 7, and Missouri has already seen multiple departures, including Anthony Robinson II, T.O. Barrett, Sebastian Mack, and Jacob Crews.

With Carey and Jones now committed, the Tigers still have four available spots, with guard depth and frontcourt help likely remaining top priorities.
