Tennessee Adds to 2027 Class
The Tennessee Volunteers continued building their future roster on Saturday with the commitment of defensive back Carter Jamison, a 3-star prospect from Fairburn, Georgia, in the 2027 recruiting class.
The addition strengthens Tennessee’s early recruiting momentum as the staff continues shaping its next wave of talent.
Player Profile and Ranking
Jamison is listed at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds and currently sits outside the top 1,000 nationally in the 247Sports rankings.
Despite the modest ranking, he has gained attention for his production and versatility on the defensive side of the ball, showing traits that could translate well at the college level.
Strong High School Production
During the 2025 season at Creekside High School in Georgia, Jamison delivered a standout performance, finishing with 63 total tackles, including nine tackles for loss, along with four sacks and two interceptions.
His efforts played a key role in helping Creekside capture a Georgia 4A state championship in one of the country’s most competitive high school football environments.
Recruiting Interest and Visits
Before committing to Tennessee, Jamison held scholarship offers from programs such as South Florida, Wake Forest, and East Carolina, among others.
He is still scheduled to take official visits, including one to South Florida on June 5 and another to Tennessee on June 19, indicating continued interest from multiple schools even after his pledge.

Role and Fit at Tennessee
According to his high school coach, Jamison could potentially fit into a nickel defensive role under coordinator Jim Knowles due to his skill set and versatility.
That projection adds value to his commitment as Tennessee looks to develop defensive backs who can fill multiple responsibilities in the secondary.
Growing 2027 Recruiting Class
With Jamison’s commitment, Tennessee now has seven total pledges in its 2027 class. He becomes the second defensive back in the group, joining safety Jaden Butler, while wide receiver Kesean Bowman remains the highest-rated commit in the class so far.
As the Volunteers continue to build early momentum, more movement is expected as official visit season ramps up in the coming months.
