As the Philadelphia Phillies look to build on their recent surge, the organization is expected to remain active in seeking roster upgrades over the coming months.
After a disappointing start to the season, Philadelphia has rebounded strongly and has played some of the best baseball in the league over the past month, re-establishing itself as a legitimate contender.
A major reason for the turnaround has been the performance of the starting rotation, which has elevated its level of play since the return of Zack Wheeler.
While Wheeler has been effective since rejoining the staff, left-hander Cristopher Sánchez has been the true standout. He recently set a record for the longest scoreless streak by a left-handed pitcher and went the entire month of May without allowing a run.
Even with the rotation carrying much of the load, concerns remain about the offense, particularly its inconsistency. Philadelphia’s lineup struggled in May, increasing the need for external reinforcements, especially impact bats capable of boosting production.

According to Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly, one possible trade target is San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos, who could help address that need.
Ramos Could Address Offensive Need
The Phillies are expected to prioritize right-handed hitting help, as much of their current production has come from left-handed hitters while the opposite side of the lineup has lagged.

Ramos, who still has three years of arbitration eligibility remaining, would represent more than a short-term rental and could become part of the team’s long-term core, though that would also increase his trade cost.
He is currently on the injured list with a quad issue but has produced solid numbers this season, hitting .267/.307/.424 with four home runs and 20 RBIs.

Over the past two seasons, he has also shown consistent power with at least 20 home runs each year despite playing in pitcher-friendly San Francisco.
With the Giants potentially open to reshaping their roster amid a difficult season, the 26-year-old right-handed outfielder could become available as they look to retool their farm system under Buster Posey’s leadership, making him an intriguing fit for Philadelphia’s needs.
