A former top prospect acquired in the trade involving Garrett Crochet, Teel impressed during his rookie campaign in 2025. He hit .273 with a .375 on-base percentage, eight home runs, and 35 RBIs across 78 games.
Known for his strong plate discipline and contact skills, Teel posted an outstanding 12.5% walk rate and a low chase rate that highlighted his advanced approach at the plate.
While his defense behind the plate remains a work in progress, Teel still represents a significant upgrade over Chicago’s current catching options.
Quero has struggled offensively, while Romo has battled issues both at the plate and defensively, making Teel’s return a potentially important boost for a White Sox team pushing toward postseason contention.
