Missouri has built one of the SEC’s strongest traditions at running back under head coach Eli Drinkwitz, thanks in large part to running backs coach Curtis Luper.
The Tigers have produced the conference’s leading rusher multiple times in recent years, including Tyler Badie in 2021, Cody Schrader in 2023, and Ahmad Hardy in 2025, and they hope to continue that trend moving forward.
The latest addition to that tradition is four-star 2027 running back commit Kingston Miles, a St. Louis native who previously pledged to Auburn Tigers football.
Considered one of Missouri’s top in-state prospects, Miles strengthens the growing pipeline from St. Mary’s High School to Missouri Tigers football.
Where He Fits
Missouri is expected to have openings in its backfield by the time Miles arrives on campus. Hardy is projected as a potential 2027 NFL Draft pick, while redshirt junior Jamal Roberts could also be nearing the end of his college career.
As a result, adding talent and depth at running back is a priority, and Miles appears to fit the program’s long-term plans perfectly.
When He Could Contribute
While it can be difficult for freshmen to earn major roles in the SEC immediately, Miles has the talent to carve out opportunities early in his career.
Even if he is not a full-time contributor right away, he could see situational snaps and begin gaining valuable experience during the 2027 season.
