“Rangers Rock the Postseason Race as Bruce Bochy Reveals Critical Injury Timelines and Announces the Confirmed Comeback of a Key Player Fans Have Been Desperate to See Back”

The Texas Rangers remain in the thick of the postseason chase, pushing hard for at least a Wild Card berth in the 2025 MLB playoffs, even as they continue to deal with the absence of two of their biggest stars.

Outfielder Adolis García and shortstop Corey Seager are both sidelined on the 10-day injured list, with quad and abdominal issues, respectively.

Their exact return timelines are still uncertain, though manager Bruce Bochy did offer some clarity, according to Rangers beat writer Kennedi Landry of MLB. com.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Landry noted: “Bruce Bochy said Adolis García (quad) could return a week from today to start the series in Houston.

Corey Seager (appendectomy) is likely still more than a week away. He could be back for the final homestand vs. Miami and Minnesota.”

García’s last appearance came on Sept. 1 in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.

Since then, the Rangers have pieced together right field with a rotation of Ezequiel Durán, Alejandro Osuna, Dustin Harris, and Cody Freeman.

Adolis Garcia

Jake Burger has primarily stepped into García’s usual cleanup role.

Across the season, the two-time All-Star has posted a .235/.277/.408 slash line with 18 homers and 73 RBIs.

Corey Seager

Seager hasn’t played since Aug. 27 against the Los Angeles Angels.

Josh Smith has handled shortstop duties in his place. Through 102 games this season, Seager is batting .271/.373/.487 with 21 home runs and 50 RBIs, along with a .299 BABIP.

He’s also showing improved plate discipline, recording a 13.0% walk rate — his best mark in any season to date.

As of Monday, Texas sits at 74-70, trailing the Seattle Mariners by just 1.5 games for the final AL Wild Card slot and sitting four games back of the division lead in the AL West.
