Red Sox Hit Hard: “Heartbreak for Red Sox as Star Player Exits Early with Season-Ending Knee Injury” and the….

Romy Gonzalez had a strong start for the Red Sox on Tuesday but exited early due to left knee soreness, though he’s expected to avoid a serious injury.

The leadoff hitter homered in the first inning and added an RBI double in the second before leaving the game, with Nathaniel Lowe taking over at first base.

Manager Alex Cora said Gonzalez is day-to-day and likely to rest Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s off day.

Gonzalez described the knee issue as minor, saying it “just kinda locked up” and that structurally everything is fine, aiming to return by Friday.

This season, he’s been a standout against left-handed pitching, ranking eighth in the majors in average, slugging, and OPS versus lefties among players with at least 100 plate appearances.
