The Tulsa, Oklahoma native, who attends Booker T. Washington High School, chose Kansas State over offers from schools such as Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, and Auburn Tigers.

The defensive tackle is the brother of former Wildcats defensive back Wayne Jones, who recorded 83 total tackles, two pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries during his three-season stint with the program.
