**Kansas State Wildcats continue to strengthen their 2027 recruiting class by securing another defensive prospect, as Dawayne Jones announced his commitment to the program on Sunday night.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma native, who attends Booker T. Washington High School, chose Kansas State over offers from schools such as Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, and Auburn Tigers.
Jones expressed gratitude on social media, posting that he felt blessed to earn the opportunity to play college football and declaring his commitment to Kansas State.
The defensive tackle is the brother of former Wildcats defensive back Wayne Jones, who recorded 83 total tackles, two pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries during his three-season stint with the program.
Jones joins Nazir Pitchford as part of the Wildcats’ growing 2027 recruiting class.
Initially rated as a three-star recruit, Jones was later elevated to a four-star prospect by analyst Tom Lemming, reflecting his rising stock in the recruiting landscape.
