First-year Alex Golesh and the Auburn Tigers added another major piece to their 2027 recruiting class on Monday, landing four-star offensive tackle Layton von Brandt, a top-50 national prospect in the SC Next 300.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pound lineman from Middletown, Delaware is ranked as the No. 6 offensive tackle in the class and is the highest-rated recruit from the state of Delaware in the ESPN recruiting era.
He chose Auburn over programs such as Notre Dame, Florida, and Penn State during a live announcement.

Von Brandt’s commitment continues Auburn’s strong late push on the recruiting trail under Golesh, who has been building momentum with several key additions in recent months, including other high-profile targets in the 2027 cycle.
Originally committed to Penn State in late 2024, von Brandt reopened his recruitment following coaching changes and quickly became one of the most sought-after offensive linemen in the country.

His decision came after visits to multiple major programs, but his connection with Auburn’s coaching staff proved decisive.
With his pledge, Auburn strengthens an already impressive 2027 class under Golesh’s leadership, adding a cornerstone offensive lineman expected to be a long-term anchor up front in the SEC.
