Wisconsin football, under Luke Fickell, has struggled in recent years, but the Badgers picked up a notable recruiting victory on Tuesday by flipping a top 2027 prospect from a Big 12 program.
Wisconsin landed a commitment from Texas Tech pledge Brody Pfannenstiel, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, giving the Badgers a boost on the recruiting trail as they continue rebuilding their roster.

Pfannenstiel is a promising edge rusher in the 2027 class who is expected to be a long-term developmental piece, but one who could eventually play an early role as Wisconsin works to add depth and talent across the roster.

The flip comes amid turbulence surrounding Texas Tech, though Pfannenstiel’s decision is likely unrelated, and instead reflects Wisconsin’s push to strengthen its future defensive front.
Ranked as the No. 55 edge rusher nationally and the No. 4 player in Kansas for his class, Pfannenstiel gives the Badgers a high-upside addition as they aim to climb back into Big Ten contention in the coming years.
