The Philadelphia Phillies have reportedly added veteran outfielder Tommy Pham on a minor league contract, according to Jorge Castillo.
The deal includes an opt-out clause on July 25, giving Pham the chance to seek another opportunity if he is not promoted to the major league roster by then.
Pham spent the 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates before signing with the New York Mets earlier this year. He appeared in nine major league games for New York before being designated for assignment and choosing free agency.
He later joined the Baltimore Orioles organization but never reached the major league club and was eventually released.
Now 38 years old, Pham will attempt to work his way into Philadelphia’s plans.
Whether he earns a promotion before his opt-out date remains uncertain, but the Phillies could benefit from additional outfield depth given their inconsistent offensive production outside of key contributors such as Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and Brandon Marsh.
A longtime major leaguer with a history of productive seasons, Pham provides the Phillies with an experienced option as they continue their push in the National League East.

Philadelphia currently owns a 46-36 record and has trimmed what was once a large deficit behind the division-leading Atlanta Braves to just four games.
