As the 2026 MLB trade deadline approaches, the San Francisco Giants are expected to begin selling, and one player drawing significant interest is outfielder Heliot Ramos. Among the teams reportedly monitoring him are the Philadelphia Phillies, who continue searching for help in the outfield.
According to reports, Phillies scouts closely watched Ramos during San Francisco’s recent series against the Kansas City Royals, suggesting the club views him as a potential trade target. Philadelphia has been seeking additional outfield production ever since Adolis Garcia suffered a season-ending injury. While the team added former Giants outfielder Derek Hill, it may still pursue a more impactful bat to strengthen its lineup for the National League East race.
Ramos presents an attractive option because of his combination of power, age, and team control. The former All-Star is under contract through the 2029 season and has produced a solid campaign, batting .268 with a .304 on-base percentage, a .455 slugging percentage, nine home runs, and 31 RBIs. His right-handed power could be an excellent fit for Philadelphia’s hitter-friendly home park.
The biggest question is what the Giants could receive in return. While it may be unrealistic to expect Philadelphia to part with its top pitching prospect, San Francisco could pursue other promising young players, including outfielders or pitching prospects who fit the organization’s long-term plans.
The Giants could also explore packaging veteran outfielder Harrison Bader with Ramos in a deal, giving Philadelphia additional depth while allowing San Francisco to shed salary.
If the Giants ultimately move Ramos before the deadline, the Phillies and New York Yankees are viewed as two of the most logical landing spots due to their need for outfield help. However, San Francisco could also choose to keep Ramos if it does not receive an offer that meets its asking price.
