Men’s Basketball Roster Blow: South Carolina Gamecocks Hit with Painful Roster Blow as Guard Makes Shock Departure in Surprise Transfer Exit

Adam Fisher and Temple University announced that former South Carolina Gamecocks guard Cam Scott will join the team for the 2026–27 season.

The 6-foot-6 guard from Lexington, South Carolina, played his first two college seasons with the Gamecocks, appearing in 26 games as a freshman in 2024–25 before redshirting the following year. During his freshman campaign, he averaged 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds, with standout moments including an eight-point performance in the SEC Tournament against Arkansas.

Fisher praised Scott as a versatile, high-upside guard with strong size, competitiveness, and a team-first mindset, expressing confidence that his best basketball is still ahead. Scott echoed that sentiment, saying Temple offered the best opportunity for his development in a supportive, competitive environment.
