The New York Mets are still waiting on injured stars Francisco Lindor and Luis Robert Jr. to return, but recent updates suggest both could remain sidelined longer than expected.
Lindor is scheduled to undergo an MRI later this week as the Mets look for more clarity on his calf injury, while Robert’s situation appears even more uncertain. According to amNewYork’s Joe Pantorno, Robert is still dealing with discomfort in his lower back and has not progressed the way the organization hoped.

Robert has been out since late April, and with no clear timetable for his return, New York recently promoted top prospect A.J. Ewing to help fill the void. The team plans to continue monitoring Robert’s recovery before determining when he can resume baseball activities.

Meanwhile, Lindor was initially expected to miss around three weeks after suffering his calf injury on April 25. The upcoming MRI should provide the Mets with a clearer picture of his recovery process and whether he is healing on schedule.
At 15-25, New York desperately needs to gain momentum in the playoff race, but their hopes could depend heavily on getting both Lindor and Robert healthy and back in the lineup soon.
