In May, Ahmad Hardy was injured in a shooting incident at a concert, leaving him hospitalized and beginning a recovery process that has kept his 2026 season status uncertain.
Since the incident, the Missouri Tigers running back has been steadily rehabilitating and is reportedly stable, with efforts underway to determine whether he will be able to return to the field.
Head coach Eliah Drinkwitz recently provided an update, noting that Hardy has returned to the team facility and is actively working through his recovery program, though his availability for the upcoming season remains unresolved.
Hardy was coming off a dominant 2025 campaign in which he led the SEC in rushing with 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the conference’s most productive offensive players.

While optimism exists about his recovery progress, officials emphasize that his return timeline will depend entirely on how his rehabilitation continues in the coming weeks and months.
