RangersVeteran Reliever to Shoulder Injury, Recall Triple-A Right-Hander
The Texas Rangers have once again placed veteran reliever Chris Martin on the 15-day injured list due to a lingering right shoulder issue, creating another setback for the club’s bullpen.
Martin, 40, recently returned from the injured list on July 4 after dealing with the same shoulder problem, but struggled in his brief return.
Over four appearances since being activated, he surrendered five runs across just 3 2/3 innings. Overall, the right-hander owns a 1-1 record with a 9.00 ERA in 16 appearances this season, allowing 25 hits over 14 innings of work.
A product of Arlington High School, Martin returned to his hometown Rangers organization for a second stint and made 49 appearances for Texas last season.
Across parts of 11 major league campaigns, he has recorded 16 career saves and established himself as a reliable veteran bullpen arm.

To fill the vacancy on the active roster, the Rangers promoted right-hander Emiliano Teodo from Triple-A Round Rock.
The 25-year-old has impressed in the minors this season, posting a 3-3 record and a 3.76 ERA across 35 relief outings, earning another opportunity to contribute at the major league level.
With Martin sidelined again, Texas will look to Teodo and the rest of its bullpen to help stabilize the relief corps during the second half of the season.
