The Texas Rangers have released veteran right-hander Austin Voth from his minor league contract, according to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News.
Voth had only been with the organization for less than two weeks after signing with Texas earlier this month.
The move appears to have come at Voth’s request following a single start for Triple-A Round Rock. While no official reason was given, the decision could suggest that the 34-year-old has attracted interest from an overseas club.
Voth spent the 2025 season in Japan with the Chiba Lotte Marines, posting a respectable 3.96 ERA over 125 innings.

Before joining the Rangers, Voth signed a minor league deal with the Chicago White Sox during the offseason but never earned a call-up to the majors.
He also made brief big league appearances with the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins this year. Across those MLB stints, he surrendered 12 runs on 19 hits and six walks in 10 innings.

Although his lone outing with Round Rock resulted in four runs allowed over five innings, Voth has generally performed solidly at the Triple-A level in 2026.
Through 12 starts, he owns a 4.01 ERA and a 21% strikeout rate while averaging just over four innings per appearance.

A veteran of eight major league seasons, Voth has compiled nearly 370 career innings in the majors with an ERA just under 5.00.
One of his stronger recent campaigns came in 2024 with the Seattle Mariners, where he recorded a 3.69 ERA in 61 innings while serving as a reliable middle reliever.
