The Texas Rangers have released veteran right-hander Nabil Crismatt, ending his second stint with the organization as the club continued to make roster adjustments during its series against the Atlanta Braves.
Crismatt, who signed a minor league contract with Texas before the 2026 season, suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament during spring training and underwent elbow surgery, preventing him from making an appearance for the organization this year.
The 31-year-old entered the season hoping to provide experienced pitching depth after reviving his Major League career with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2025.

Across eight appearances with Arizona last season, Crismatt posted a 3.71 ERA and demonstrated the versatility to work as both a starter and reliever, earning another opportunity with the Rangers.
However, the elbow injury derailed those plans before the regular season even began.
With Crismatt sidelined for the entire campaign, Texas ultimately decided to move on, opening a roster spot as the club continues to shuffle its pitching staff while battling through injuries and chasing the American League West title.
Crismatt has appeared in parts of six Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Los Angeles Dodgers, building a reputation as a dependable swingman capable of filling multiple roles.
Once healthy, the Colombian right-hander is expected to draw interest from organizations seeking experienced pitching depth as he works toward another return to the majors.
