The Philadelphia Phillies made a strategic move on Saturday to strengthen their roster depth ahead of Opening Day, adding versatility for the 2026 season.
According to reports from Will Sammon of The Athletic, the team has agreed to a major league contract with 33-year-old utility player Dylan Moore, ensuring his place on the Opening Day roster.

Moore had recently exercised an opt-out clause on March 19, giving the Phillies a 48-hour window to either add him to the 40-man roster or risk losing him to free agency. With multiple teams reportedly showing interest, Philadelphia acted quickly to secure his services.
Entering his eighth MLB season, Moore brings defensive flexibility, with experience at second base, shortstop, and in the outfield.
He is coming off a 2025 season split between the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers, where he played 106 games and recorded 11 home runs, 25 RBIs, 14 stolen bases, and a .201 batting average.
