Eli Drinkwitz and Missouri came away with a major late addition at a key position, even after the transfer portal window had closed.
Players who remain unsigned after the window are still eligible to join new programs, and the Tigers capitalized by securing one of the top remaining talents.
As reported by On3’s Pete Nakos, Missouri landed former Baylor edge rusher Kamauryn Morgan.
The ex-Bear had briefly committed to Virginia Tech before backing off that pledge just a week later due to academic concerns. Now, he’s set to join the Tigers in Columbia as their newest pass rusher.

Missouri hits the jackpot with a late portal pickup in Kamauryn Morgan
Morgan recorded six tackles during his freshman season at Baylor but entered college as a highly regarded four-star recruit.
The Tigers had pursued him both out of high school and during his initial transfer process but missed out both times—until now. According to On3 rankings, he was the best player still available, making this a significant win for Drinkwitz and his staff.

Morgan’s arrival provides a much-needed boost to Missouri’s defensive end unit following the departures of starters Zion Young and Damon Wilson II. Although the Tigers added several other portal players—CJ May, Jaden Jones, Malik Bryant, and Cavan Tuley—none bring extensive production or experience. Morgan, however, has already seen action in 10 games at a major program and could quickly carve out a meaningful role.
With Morgan on board, Missouri’s transfer class grows to 30 players. The hope is that he can help offset the loss of 15.5 sacks left behind by Young and Wilson. Still, with spring practices already underway, he’ll need time to adjust and catch up with the rest of the team.
