News Flash: Another 2027 Wide Receiver Makes Official Commitment to East Carolina After Visit, Adding Elite Playmaking Talent and Firepower to Pirates’ Offense

Top 2027 wide receiver prospect Camden Simmons has scheduled an official visit to East Carolina University, set for June 18‑20, as he continues evaluating his college options.

The visit represents a major opportunity for the Pirates to further strengthen their recruiting efforts in the wide receiver room.

Simmons has been a standout at The St. James School in Virginia, drawing attention from multiple Division I programs for his speed, playmaking ability, and versatility.

The 5-foot-10, 168-pound athlete has made a significant impact at the high school level. During his junior season, Simmons recorded 36 receptions for 721 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding five rushing scores.

He also contributed on special teams, totaling 503 return yards and six return touchdowns, showcasing his ability to make plays in multiple facets of the game.

East Carolina’s coaching staff, led by wide receivers coach Juan Soto, has been actively recruiting Simmons and extended him an offer earlier this year.

With the official visit on the calendar, ECU will have the chance to host him on campus, showcase the program, and illustrate the opportunities available in Greenville for both athletic development and academics.

His versatility as a receiver and return specialist makes him an appealing prospect for the ECU offense.

His decision will likely hinge on which school offers the best combination of playing opportunity, development, and fit within the program’s system.
