Blockbuster-Deal: Kentucky Wildcats football strike big on the recruiting trail, land Another 4-star WR commitment for 2027 season

Kentucky Wildcats football head coach Will Stein picked up a major recruiting win for the 2027 class after securing a commitment from four-star wide receiver Iveon Lewis, as the new coach continues building momentum in Lexington.

The standout receiver from Huguenot High School announced his decision Saturday, giving Stein an important offensive weapon before the coach even begins his first season leading Kentucky.

Lewis said the Wildcats “checked all the boxes,” convincing him to leave his home state of Virginia and head to the SEC in 2027.

Kentucky’s recruiting victory became even more impressive considering the competition involved.

Programs such as Georgia Bulldogs football, Tennessee Volunteers football, and Oklahoma Sooners football all extended scholarship offers, but Lewis ultimately chose Stein, who previously built one of the nation’s top offenses during his time at Oregon Ducks football.

National powers like Indiana Hoosiers football and Ohio State Buckeyes football were also heavily involved in Lewis’ recruitment, making this a significant addition for Kentucky as Stein continues stacking offensive talent for the future.

Kentucky first offered Lewis in February, and only a few months later the relationship turned into a commitment. The Wildcats also managed to beat out Virginia Tech Hokies football, which hoped to keep the talented receiver in-state.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Lewis is currently rated as the No. 334 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, the No. 43 wide receiver nationally, and the sixth-best player in Virginia.

Lewis now becomes the 14th commitment in Kentucky’s rapidly rising 2027 recruiting class, which currently sits ranked No. 10 nationally in the latest 247Sports Composite team rankings.

While Kentucky fans wait for Lewis to arrive in Lexington, Stein’s new era officially begins in 2026 as the Wildcats look to make noise in the SEC under their new head coach.
