Kentucky Wildcats basketball have officially added Washington transfer center Franck Kepnang, giving the program a notable frontcourt boost as they continue reshaping their roster for the upcoming season.

Kepnang, a former standout at the Washington Huskies, brings size, athleticism, and rim protection to Lexington. The 6-foot-11 big man is known for his defensive presence in the paint, shot-blocking ability, and energy around the rim, making him a valuable interior addition for Kentucky’s rotation.

For head coach Mark Pope, the move strengthens a frontcourt that has been a key focus of roster construction. Kentucky has emphasized adding physicality and depth inside, and Kepnang fits that need as a traditional center who can anchor the defense and provide rebounding support.

Offensively, while Kepnang is not expected to be a primary scoring option, he offers efficiency around the basket through putbacks, lobs, and high-percentage finishes. His role is likely to complement Kentucky’s perimeter scoring and help balance the lineup on both ends of the floor.
With his arrival, the Wildcats continue to build toward a more complete roster capable of competing in the NCAA Division I men’s basketball. Kepnang’s commitment adds experience and size to a team aiming to make a deeper postseason push.
