“Rangers Pull Off a Game-Changing Move: Activate Another Vital Star from Injured List to Supercharge Their Shaky Bullpen and Ignite a Comeback Like Never Before!”

The Texas Rangers welcomed back one of their most dependable bullpen arms on Saturday, activating veteran right-hander Jakob Junis from the 15-day injured list ahead of their matchup with the Atlanta Braves.

To create roster space, Texas optioned rookie right-hander Emiliano Teodo to Triple-A Round Rock after he made his Major League debut on Friday. The club also shuffled its relief corps by sending Gavin Collyer back to Triple-A while recalling Jose Corniell.

Junis returns at an important time for the Rangers, who were coming off a lopsided 15-1 loss to Atlanta on Friday.

With the bullpen stretched after Cal Quantrill’s outing and catcher Kyle Higashioka forced to pitch the final inning, Texas was in need of reinforcements for high-leverage situations.

Signed to a one-year deal during the offseason, Junis has emerged as one of the Rangers’ most reliable relievers in 2026.

The 32-year-old owns a 1-1 record with a 2.80 ERA across 31 appearances, recording 27 strikeouts and just six walks over 35.1 innings. Opposing hitters have managed only a .224 batting average against him, while he has also collected 11 holds and five saves.

Before landing on the injured list with a left hip impingement on July 4, Junis had carved out a key setup role in front of All-Star closer Jacob Latz.

His experience and versatility allow him to handle eighth-inning duties or step into save situations when needed, making his return a significant boost for Texas.

Even with Junis back, the Rangers are expected to explore bullpen upgrades ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline if they remain in contention.

Injuries have thinned the relief corps, with Chris Martin back on the injured list due to a shoulder issue and Jalen Beeks sidelined for the season following elbow surgery.

With several young relievers carrying major responsibilities and Texas holding a slim lead in the American League West, Junis’ veteran presence could prove invaluable down the stretch.
